Darren and Marty Are Officially Losers

This may be the hardest thing I've ever had to write in my life, and I mean that literally, being one not prone to much exaggeration. But after endless months of threats, cajoling, tears, pleading and eye-rolling, I've finally caved in and decided to join the evil network that is Twitter. That's right, Darren Smith and Marty Caswell are official tweeting losers. After calling anyone that has a twitter account an attention whore, well the pot's now calling the kettle black.

My official site is twitter.com/Marty1090 so if you want to follow what The Darren Smith Show is up to, feel free to follow. I'll update the latest relevant Chargers and Padres news as well as anything noteworthy in the world of sports. If you like finding out what A-list guests are coming on the show, it'll be a great way to follow in case you're not always able to tune in. Shoot, if you know we have a specific guest coming up and there's something you feel needs to be asked, feel free to pass it along.

And just to emphasize, I'm not going to bore you with details of what I'm thinking (even though that's supposed to be the point of Twitter) or rip Scott and BR on a daily basis (too easy) or tell you what I'm eating for breakfast and how when I'm stuck in traffic.

But I will rat out Darren Smith from time to time...

Stimulus package
Ask the government for stimulus money to help build the stadium. Think of the the jobs that would create and jobs to maintain it.

Kind of right...
... I don't think Darren needed twitter to fall into this category. Is it possible to mute his voice from the show and just hear your sporadic comments?

When you're right...
Your comments about the problem being depth of talent and associated unrealistic expectations were right on; Darren's off base on this one. A.J. can point the finger all he wants, but his ego, mediocre (at best) draft picks and failure to go wholeheartedly into the free-agent market has left a tiny margin for error. For example, why not franchise tag Michael Turner (they did it for Sproles) and protect yourself in the event of an LT injury. Where are the capable replacements for Williams, Hardwick? I think they cut more capable lineman (probably for financial reasons) and crossed their fingers praying for a healthy team. I have always believed in saying what you have to say like a man (or in your case-a woman) face to face. You don't air out criticism in a public forum, you say it to the people directly and you take accountability for your poor decisions that contributed to the problems. Hopefully, AJs comments will light a fire but it was mishandled like so many other things he's done. Okay he had one good draft. In the words of Janet Jackson- "what have you done for me lately." Marty-I love your enthusiasm and I've had a crush on you since I heard you throw out some baseball stats about 4 years ago. :)
